Thankfully our industry gets a boost at christmas but is not totally reliant on the winter season. This year the snow two weeks ago has caused a backlog in the delivery system for most carriers, and with more snow predicted for this weekend, the carriers are feeling the pressure and can not really guarantee that deliveries will be completed by Christmas.
To be fair to the carriers, it’s always a struggle to cope, and they normally do an excellent job of clearing everything by Christmas. This year the weather may intervene and make it just too hard in some areas.
Still, it’s not all bad news , since if your internet delivery will not make it, customers will trip on down the real shops and make a purchase for their 12ft trampolines complete with enclosure, squeeze it in to the car and deliver it themselves, just like Santa. So those shop storerooms should be empty by Christmas day.
Later next week, we plan to give a review of the top-selling products in Outdoor retailers this Christmas, but already we can say that Sandpits will be very high on the list, with several entires in the top ten selling outdoor play products. Wait and see……..
